f.a.q.

If you can’t find an answer to your question here please don’t hesitate to get in touch via my contact page. If you’re super lucky, your question may be featured in future revisions of my f.a.q!

Can I have an image printed at a different size?

That depends!

Timed Editions allow you to choose from the set range of sizes offered by Format as you purchase. This helps me keep pricing affordable and minimises the time it takes to get large editions produced and shipped to you all.

I list all of my Limited Edition prints at the size I think they will look their best for simplicity. If I’m happy to produce a particular image at a different size, I will also list the range each image is available to be reproduced at on it's individual product page with a variation request button. You can request a custom listing by clicking through and filling out the linked form.

If you don’t see a variation request button it’s probably because I have a physical item on hand or I’m nearing the end of the edition. I’m a bit irrational about letting my babies go at smaller sizes when they’re nearly sold out, but you’re welcome to try to sweet talk me!

Please note that the maximum size I will reproduce any image is limited by the resolution of the photographic equipment used to capture it – this ensures your print is of the highest quality.

My print arrived! I want to look at it now! Why can't I open it till I'm at the framers?

The surface of the print is super duper delicate and will mark or smudge if scraped or touched – one printer I worked with wouldn't even let me sign them unless the printed surface was covered with acid free paper!

The best way to ensure that your print isn't damaged before it's framed is to wait until your professional framer can apply all of their many years of practice in opening and laying it out for you to review. Trust me!

Can you shoot something just for me?

Sure can!

I charge a commission fee to cover my set up costs, materials and specialist equipment hire that may be required. Still specimen images start from $500 and explosive images from $1,000. I retain copyright over the digital files, but guarantee your chosen image – or images – will be exclusive to you alone.

Get in touch here with as much information as you can, and I’ll get back to you to get your custom piece underway.

How should I have my unframed print framed?

I recommend having your print framed by a professional framer to ensure its longevity. All prints – and especially large format prints – benefit from being dry mounted to prevent the paper from rippling over time. It's also really important that the surface of the print doesn't touch the glass of your frame, so choose an acid free matt or have your framer use a spacer.

Can I use your images on my blog / social media / website / retail product?

I'm more than happy for you to repost my images to personal blogs or social media with appropriate credit if you let me know first. Please drop me a courtesy request before you proceed.

If you would like to use my images on a website promoting your business or a retail product, we need to arrange a licensing agreement. Reproducing my images without my permission is a breach of copyright.

Where are you based?

Fractured Flora was founded in rural Victoria, which is why all of my suppliers are in Melbourne. But recently my family made the move to Queensland, and I now live with my husband and three smallish children on the spectacular Sunshine Coast.
